M(all) in One: Teamwork Project for Reconstruction of An Abandoned Textile Factory Premises, Graduation team work

Teamwork project for Reconstruction of an existent abandoned building built and used as a textile factory in the 30s of 20th century in industrial area of Barcelona. Actual state – one-level building with roof and brick chimney.
The team has the chance to propose the upbuilding of 1 or 2 levels over the existent one and fit in different commercial spaces, among the mandatory: restaurant, shop and hotel. Later, the plans from the project are used as base for further projects for each of the forementioned category commercial spaces, part of Master’s program of Interior Design for commercial spaces in IED Barcelona, 2012.
The premise is explored for sun-exposure characteristics and the project proposes solar-panels set on the facades as jalousies to control daylight according to temperature and seasons and provide green energy. Other sustainable practices are wooden material for façade decoration, green roof, cross ventilation in summer and closing the glass roof holes in winter.
