SPA center, Thermal Baths of Bankya, Bulgaria

Area: 440 sq. m. The old Building of Thermal Baths in Bankya (7 km West from Sofia) is in restoration and rehabilitation process since November 2018 until September 2020. Build in year 1910 and abandoned since 2001 until 2018, it is now bound to live its new live, adapted to the contemporary needs for recreation facilities, thermal baths and health-care services.
Apart from the restoration of the original look of the main rooms or the façade, the lower ground level (1700 sq. m, former laundry and technical rooms) is renovated in its new look and purpose – a contemporary SPA-center featuring numerous rooms for relax and recreation. List of the features: 3 hydrothermal pools, 3 steam baths, sauna, laconium, salt room, English yards, turned into relax areas, and two private apartments with Jacuzzis, steam baths and massage rooms.

My participation in this project as a partner to Georgiev Design Studio included interior design project for all spaces on Level -1: corridors, SPA areas and facilities, English yards (relax areas), VIP-areas, and partly on the ground level the following: reception desk design, pastry shop furniture, selection of materials covering authentic pools holding on to the original project, selection of materials and colors covering heated beds in Hammam and Relax areas in the authentic spaces of the Ground level, Logo design and Brandbook for The Thermal Bath’s Visual Identity.
