Japandi House Interior

This is a house project in Japandi style – the crosspoint between Scandinavian design and the Japanese Wabi-sabi style.

65 sq. m of open space divided in two levels includes on lower level: Living with Kitchen, Dining and on the upper level: Working/Relax area. The ceiling height of the lower level is 3,20 m, and 2,50 m for the higher level. Floorings are stone coverings aiming better performance of the floor heating. Stairs between the two levels are monolith blocks.

Living area features projector and a screen instead of TV. The projector is hidden in a small nook above the door. Bio-ethanol fireplace is placed in the center of the area.
Kitchen is architecturally divided from the main area and furniture is decided in American walnut and technical stone worktop.

The bedroom of 21 sq. m offers a minimalistic furnishing of upholstered island bed, with an open wardrobe on the back, divided by a portable screen.

The design style refers to wabi-sabi/ japandi, betting on simplicity, natural shapes and raw materials in simple earthy tones. Instead of doors to transition rooms, there are rope curtains. All walls are in lime plaster that has breathing and antiseptic qualities, whereas branches, rope and straw lampshades contribute to the overall atmosphere.
